The Park District offers over 750 programs every year that cover nature, recreation, adventure, and more! Your parks are what keeps Centerville and Washington Township open, green and livable. For a full description of parks, amenities and programs, please visit www.cwpd.org.

Facts At-A-Glance:

  • 1.0-mil parks and recreation replacement levy with a 10-year term

  • Funds parks and recreation amenities and services for 51 parks in Centerville and Washington Township.

  • This will replace an expiring 0.9 mill levy that originated in 2004 and was renewed by voters in 2014.

  • The Park District has been operating for nearly 20 years withthe 0.9 mill levy at 2004 total township values.

  • The replacement of this levy at 1.0 mills will provide funds to maintain the standard of care for district facilities and requested park improvements.

  • The Park District’s primary source of revenue is from property tax levies provided by Centerville and Washington Township residents.

  • CWPD does not receive operating monies from the City of Centerville, Washington Township, Montgomery County, or Five Rivers MetroParks.

  • The levy will generate approximately $2M in revenue, which provides funds to keep facilities in top shape, while adding various requested improvements.

What it will cost:

Homeowners will pay $35.00/year per $100,000 of home value*, which equates to an additional $13.39/year or just $1.11 per month. “The community support is essential to enable us to provide exceptional parks and facilities, and to insure the future of one of our community’s greatest assets,” said Jeff Senney, Park Board President.

*Nov. levy will be based off 2023 home values not the newly released tentative property values from the Montgomery County Auditor.
